All of the images on this page are scanned directly from the original piece of art. It's all hand drawn by me and either completely original except for some of the older stuff where I looked at something else to draw it myself which is how a lot of beginning artists learn. If I did do that for a particular work here I will say in the description. My medium of choice is pen and ink and for the most part only my last few things were in color. I'm not sure if you'll be able to tell in the image scans but the style I draw in most of the time is called pointilism. This is making the entire drawing out of tiny dots and gives a very nice shading effect that can be achieved no other way to my knowledge, but ends up making the total time to create a piece extremely long. Each one of these pieces has a different story behind it which I will explain as you come to the examples. I have had enormous joy in creating most everything I've worked on and I hope you get to feel a little of that joy in viewing them. |

Perfect Imperfection: This is my more recent drawings which isn't complete yet. That's a bad habit of mine, finishing the foreground of the artwork and then getting bored and not doing the background. This is my first color pointilism drawing where everything is done in dots like most of my other work but I mix my own ink to gradually change colors to add even more to the depth of the piece. It's also one of my first completed drawing done on painter canvas. The name of this drawing is Perfect Imperfection and the meaning will be more clear when the background is complete. The plan is for the daisy to be set in an endless field of roses or some some sort of the same flower repeating over and over and the beauty of it is the butterfly picked the ordinary daisy out of this perfect field. The hidden meaning behind it all is when someone is truelly looking for love they can find it in something they see everyday and not have to worry about going with what everyone else looks for in a person. The inspiration behind this drawing in many ways is my friend Ashley whom I plan on giving this drawing when I finally complete it. |

Probed: This is one of my best works and that's why it pains me to say that I gave it away to a girl I don't even talk to anymore. It's another pointilism drawing and probably one of my last that will be in black and white now that I've found out how much I like doing color pointilism even though it is quite a bit more difficult. The setting of the drawing is on the ice planet of Hoth where the rebels have set up a hidden base. The Imperial probe droid in the foreground has just transmitted their location back to the fleet so there will soon be an attack. The ion cannon is in the background ready to help defend the base. If you haven't guessed already this drawing is based on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. As with most of my drawings it took quite a while to complete, probably around 2 months and it is really a shame that I gave it up to a girl like I did, all I have left of it are these scans so now you have as much of it as I do. |

Incursion: Probably one of my most known pieces of artwork, at least around here. It was in the West Virginia Cultural Center for a number of months on display to the public. Yet another black and white pointilism drawing with penciled highlights and extra shading. I wish you could see the real thing because this scan doesn't do it justice at all. This was my first true pointilism drawing and it took me a long time because it is where I created my technique and it took me a while to get it down because I was afraid of messing things up so I went very slowly, probably a six month process to complete this work. This is also one of the few good drawings that I still have in my possession which I'm very glad because it is one of my favorite ones that I've done. |

untitled castle: I argued with myself about whether I should even put this drawing on display here or not but finally decided that I would. In fact, it's not really a drawing as much as it is a sketch that I did before Incursion above to get the hang of drawing castles and landscaping. As you can see this one is a little more realistic in it's architecture while the one above is more fantasy type. This was just penciled on typing paper and then outlined in black ink, no pointilism, just pencil shading. If you look closely in the larger scan here you can even see that most of the lines in the towers aren't very straight, this is a dead giveaway that it was just a sketch and not really meant for display. |

White Zombie compilation: Here is an example of complete boredom in my eleventh grade math class. I spent several weeks drawing the different characters and other doodles on all the White Zombie cd's that were out at the time. It started to look good enough that I filled in the entire page with things from the albums and some of my own stuff to match. Most of it is stuff I just copied off the albums but I thought it was cool enough looking to go ahead and put up here for display. After I finished the entire page I lined everything in black ink and I was going to color it with colored pencils but I never got around to it sense I didn't really feel it was my own anyway I didn't want to put the extra time needed on it. You should take the time to check out the bigger scan of it though because it is very neat and very busy drawing, I think you'll enjoy. It's an extreme turn from my normal style of subjects but it was a blast to draw, a nice refreshing change from my normal boring stuff. |

untitled dragon: I went through a phase where all I wanted to draw was dragons. This is one of many but I only had a couple on hand to scan and put on here. Actually these were done so long ago that they really weren't all that good or worthy of being on display. This is all junior high work but I thought it would be nice for you to see a few things that marked the beginning of my artistic career. This was just a quick colored pencil drawing I did for an art class. It has so many things in it that could have been done better that I won't even begin to try to explain. But I think it's fairly good for someone so young to draw and it gave me talent to build on as time went on. Actually it looks pretty decent in the small version here but if you take a look at the larger scan you can really see some of the things I'm talking about. One thing that I am proud about with this drawing is that it was from my imagination and not copied from anything, at least I'm pretty sure about that. Most of my work at this stage in my drawing was copied from someone elses work, or at least started like that and added onto by me. |

untitled dragon: Here is my very first drawing that I feel like was a step up from doodling to actual decent work. It's another drawing from when I was very young and came from the instruction book from a game, I can't remember what one. It was just the head, neck and chest that was copied though, the rest of the drawing is from my imagination. There used to be quite a bit more to the drawing on both sides but my mother spilled something on it and it had to be trimmed, what you see is all that's left. The mountains of skulls and even the cave formations in the background could have been done a lot better but like the drawing above, I think it's extremely good for someone as young as I was at the time. As with a lot of my early work, this is a pencil drawing just outlined in black ink, I made several copies of it to try adding color but it never seemed to come out right so I didn't add it to the original. |
